Hello we are Alexandra and Anna and we are the ladies behind Alexandra King, British Womenswear Design.

We're happy to answer your sewing questions, read your suggestions or just receive a friendly message.

Crafty Alex has evolved from the studio of Alexandra King where we saw a great following for our sewing DIYs that we published on our site. There were two clear groups, those of you who just wanted to enjoy our beautiful dresses and those of you who wanted to learn to sew really well and admired the techniques we used.

So Crafty Alex was started, as we sew every day we can capture what we do and share it with you.

What makes us skilled enough to share our knowledge?

- We both have degrees in Fashion and Textile Design where we had intensive sewing tuition.
- Anna has worked in the leather industry as a high end product designer and pattern cutter.
- Alexandra has worked in the vintage clothing world with a great knowledge of the history of dress and production techniques from domestic to couture
- Anna teaches sewing workshops at the wonderful Millie Moon Shops.
- They run a successful fashion and bridalwear business 'Alexandra King' designing and producing high end couture dresses, accessories and childrenswear.

So you're in good hands!

There is also a 'Crafty Alex' haberdashery where you can buy kits to make your own accessories and clothing and our hand made trimmings.
